It's about time we, Lebanese people, wake up and ask for our right in a decent life!!!!
What has sectarianism done so far to our country? What has it generated?
It distorted our political perceptions and social values…..it caused wars ……. drowned our country in blood………. and left it deeply wounded!!!
Belonging to one religion or another is not a sin, it's on the contrary a pride but encouraging ssectarianism and planting its dangerous roots in our country is the greatest sin of all…..
We should fight to rip off sectarianism from its roots, if we want Lebanon to become a country for all its citizens. Let's all together eradicate sectarianism and put an end to its withering ideology!!!
This inherited ideology doesn't only originate from a myth but also from a sectarian social system .
Lebanese brothers and sisters, beware of SECTARIANISM!!!!
Have you ever asked yourself what have you given Lebanon? What are your contributions to make it a better country? How have your actions, work and ideas affected it?
If you haven't thought of this yet, we really think it is about time for you to react and stop your reckless and selfish attitude towards which will submerge Lebanon .
We have decided to create this group because we aim at a peaceful and democratic change in Lebanon following the principles of independence, law and social justice.
The idea of the group is to form a team of people who believe in the dangers of the sectarianism and who is ready to work for fighting it by all possible means and to propose suggestions that contribute in realizing this end.
Our group looks forward to grow bigger and spread its ideas so to reach every Lebanese citizen who is eager to live in pride and dignity.
Giving the opportunity to all Lebanese to express their real belonging to their nation through expressing their opinion and working on building a pure society free of any harmful and poisonous ideas that might destroy it
Insisting that all Lebanese are free and equal in rights, and on the fact that they should deal with each others on the principles of brotherhood regardless of their religious believes.
Raising the awareness on the importance of a deep change in the Lebanese society and of the respect of the freedom of expression
Abolishing sectarianism from our Lebanese society is the true expression of our belonging to our country.
Sectarianism and patriotism are two contradictory concepts since equality in rights and duties regardless of religious believes is the starting point to build a healthy country.
We have to admit that we still have a lot of work to do to fight the sectarian mentality and to make a real difference.
Our mission is difficult but not impossible and we will do whatever it takes to realize our dream.
We will work among the civil society and animate different kinds of activities, conferences, discussion groups and launching campaigns to diffuse the non sectarian principle in the Lebanese society.
- Being totally loyal of our nation .
- Assuring that Lebanon's area is 10452 km2 and will forever be the homeland of all its citizens .
- Separating religion from the governmental issues in Lebanon and NOT from the heart of the Lebanese people .
- Insisting on the importance of respect to all religions
- Refusing all kinds of sectarianism & discrimination among Lebanese people
- Believing in democracy, and the freedom of speech and act to lead our nation to a better and prosperous end
- Being keen to eliminate all acts of sectarianism
Abolishing sectarianism by eliminating it from all the structure of our political system is the realm of “Real democracy” , since they are two contradictory concepts.
The core of democracy is the equality of rights and duties among all citizens, regardless of the religious or ethnic groups they belong to.
Our nation can only flourish if we take the lyrics of our national anthem as precious rules, and abide by them. It is full of intense meanings which should be craved in our hearts!
In our group, we believe that the two most remarkable phrases are:
" We would all sacrifice ourselves for the nation" and "Our acts go hand in hand with our sayings "
- Regular meetings every week or ten days for the officers and activists
